James who had a rough day with the conclusion of it, the fight he had with Izabelle which could result in the ending of his friendship with Remus, he hoped that his old friend would have the sense not to get involved in the dispute. He looked at the timw and saw that he needed to get home or Lily will play tennis with his balls.

Lily had had one hell of a day at the Ministy. She had taken it out on about five different interns and was not feeling guilty about any of it. Instead of going home to an empty house she'd used the floo and went to Hogwarts. Stepping out of the fireplae she called, "James?" And there he was. Not surprising he was still here.

At the sudden eruption of smoke in his fireplace, he had no idea who it could be knowing that Lily wouldn't abuse her power as Minister. He saw her step out of the fireplace and he smiled at her knowing that he must have rubbed off on her.
"Lily, what's going on? I was heading home now."James said not wanting to talk about his argument with Izzy.

"Well everyone at the Ministry is abusing their power so I thought I'd join in." she said dusting off her clothes. "the department of magical creature had their whole section run lose so we've had creature of every shape and form running around the place." Lily said pinching the bridge of her nose. "What about you darling....only now going home?"

"Yes, I had a late meeting and I was just now going to leave."James said sitting on the edge of his desk. He crossed his arms as he looked at his wife. He knew that was a good excuse and how she only talked to Izzy once a week but that wasn't until later in the week. For some reason he loved it when Lily abused her power, it was one of the things that he loved about her.
"What brings you here?"

Lily walked over to James who sat on the desk. "I had a feeling you weren't going to be home, I quite miss visiting Howarts andI can't seem to keep away from the headmaster." she admitted with a small laugh. "Seen him around?"

James who by now wrapped his arms around her as she was speaking. He understood her missing Hogwarts, he remembered when she was at Hogwarts she seemed to be in love with the castle.
"You're looking for the Headmaster?"He asked playing their usual game. "Good looking bloke, about 6 foot used to wear glasses but not anymore? You jusy missed him, miss, he headed home to his bird, redhead, legs that go on for days and quite a looker."
He smiled as he laid a kiss on her lips.

Lily wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled softly as he spoke. She laughed to herself and said, "Gutting, does that mean I have to settle for this handsome stranger instead?" Lily kissed James back softly. She treasured the time they shared together which was becoming more and more rare these days. She sometimes regretted coming Minister but knew her time there would fly by easily.

"I think you might have, you may."James said as he looked into his wife's eyes and everything seemed to melt away. He had missed seeing her with the recent events concerning Evie, he wanted to hold these times they had in a bottle. He loved Lily with all of his being but saw that they were both important people whose professional lives was taking more and more time away from each other.

"I think I can live with that." She said. Lily buried her head into the crook of her neck. Even after 16 years together she was still a good deal shorted than James. "I love you so umch." she whispered to him. She knew she was lucky to have such a wonderful man standing next to her, not only now, but through life in general.

He flicked his wand and soft music began to play it was the song they played at their wedding. He always wanted Lily to be able to unwind when she was around him and he thought with almost 20 years of marriage that it was working.
"Rough day, was it?"He asked as he began to sway to the music.

Lily laughed softly. "I don't wnat to help your ego." she told him. Lily's ear pricked to the music that was playing and a smile settled on her face. This song was their song. The one tat had been played at their wedding. She swayed with him slowly. "I just don't want to go back." she admitted to James.

"Come on, Evans,"James pleaded as they continued to sway, he heard a couple of the portraits weep a little at the sight of them dancing. This made James smile as he returned to Lily.
"You're the strongest person I know, I mean you have to be able to deal with the kids as well as me."
He looked down at her and felt like he did back when he was 17 after graduation when Lily was pregnant with Harry, how nervous, scared and sure he was all at the same time.
"I don't want you to go but I know you're stubborn and you won't quit."James said. "Its one of the things I love about you."

Lily lifted her head from him to glance at the poratraits before resting her head on him again. She listened to James. He hadn't called her Evans in ages, and now only used it to motivate her. "Now I'm beginning to wonder how I'm still on the Earth dealing with the Potter and his children." Lily smiled up at him and kissed him gently. "Hopefully time will fly and there won't be too many disasters."

"Now Lily,"James said. "Merlin knows that you're at your best when you are taking on a job that seems like its hopeless."
He rested his head on top of hers and smiled thinking of how this reminded him when they were thinking of having another child after Harry. He went to look at Lily and at her.
"I don't think that we're done fighting yet but until we have to fight, I'm right here by your side."
