"I never used to believe in the House stereotypes but maybe I'm beginning to see how much truth is in them." Ebony told him simply becoming cold again. "I'm doing the job for the sake of doing the job. Ther is no passion there. Not anymore."

Zidane looked at her and sighed, "The house stereotypes have only split the houses more, they have divided the school I am teaching there and I am going to have get students that don't get along to work together in order to succeed, I never thought that I would have to find a reason to get someone like you to believe that the house stereotypes aren't true." he said, "Did you choose to follow the Darkness that was rising back in those days?" he asked her, "And just doing the job for the sake of doing the job is one thing, having passion about it is a completely different reason."

Ebony slammed shut the book and thrust it back on the desk. "I refuse to be lectured by you or explain myself." she told him. "I have my reasons for believing what I believing and doing what i do. And I wish people would accept tha. Why you care so much is a mystery to me."

Zidane looked at her, "I care enough to help you because I want to get to know you, to be your friend, Just as Birgitte is my friend. I helped her through the same things that you are going through and I don't want to let someone with as much talent as you just let it go to waste." he said to her, "I understand what you are going through probably more than you would understand, I don't want to change your beliefs, I just want to give another point of view that you can see from." he said to her.

Ebony ears perked up at the metion of her sister in law. She loved her dearly but they had barely spoken since Cain's death. Communication had also died with him. For the first time in many years Ebon'y changed. Her hair changed from black to a blue and her eyes broke the icy look and left there was fear and hurt in a shade of violet.

Zidane watched her hair change color and remembered that she could do that at will. "I know that you are hurt deep down by the death of Cain, I know this, but I also know that he would have wanted to you to move on, his Death was six years ago." he said, "You have shut yourself away from people who care about you and the people who would have been the most help in recovering from his death. If you think that I am wrong go ahead and say it and I will never bother you again." he said to her.

Ebony turned to face him properly. "I shut myself away because I knew I wasn't storng enough to accept the fact I lost the one person who I ever loved. I still refuse to accept it. I can see him clearly when I close my eyes...I have a stupid thought of him waltzing back into the house and Pip attacking him...." Ebony was tearing up and a lump came to her throat. She couldn't talk properly.

Zidane nodded. "I think that you have more strength in you then you would think." he said to her, "If you were not strong, You would not have made it this long with out more problems." he said to her, "And the memory's are always going to be there and for a while they will be impossible to forget, but Memory's are the one thing that can help you get over it, Just remember the good times and bad times you had with him and try to let them help guide you towards the kind of person that you can trust enough to talk to." he said.

Ebony was pulling at the sleeves of her robes when Zidane spoke. She was beginning to feel uncomfortable, like she always did when people spoke of Cain. "Zidane, I appreciate the help." she whispered. "But i don't want to talk about it here. I really don't."

Zidane suddenly remembered that they were standing in the bookstore and that Parents and Children alike were able to listen to them. "Sorry about that" he said to Ebony, "We can continue this at another time or if you would like, you can come back to the school with me and we can continue this conversation in my office." he said to her as he picked the books that he was purchasing back up.
