Rydell walked alone along the shore of the lake, the Quarter moon cast an eerie reflection off the water that made a gentle noise against the shore, He felt relaxed, more in tune with the humanity part of his body and less with the beast he had mastered in his soul.

Evie moved out onto the grounds. He rfirst year at the school and she wanted to see everything. Know of everything. And she had heard the lake look so beautiful at night that she couldn't help herself. Evangeline slowly made her way to the lake to see someone already there. "Hello." she said quietly. Her voice seemed to shatter the silence around them.

Rydell heard the soft voice and looked behind him, He saw the young girl and sighed, Well there goes the peace fullness of the evening he thought to himself as he turned to face her, "Hello" he said to her. The wind picked up along the lake bringing the gentle mist as well, "I take it you are new here." he said.

"Is it that obvious?" she aked with a small blush. Evangeline made it to the edge of the lake and sat herself down. "Yeah I've just started. This palce really is beautiful. I hate my brother for lying to me and saying it was a horror."

"It isn't obvious, I have just become used to looking at someone and guessing what year they are in by the way the act around the school." he said to her, "You act like someone who is seeing something for the first time. or perhaps the second time and just admiring the beauty of it now." he said to her as he examined her. "My name is Rydell." he said to her.

Evie looked over at him. It was interesting the way he could read people in that way. "Nice to meet you Rydell. Evangeline Potter. So what years are you in?" she asked him curously. Evie couldn't read pople the way he could. Her eyes roamed over the lake and how glassy and perfect the surface looked.

"I am in my sixth year" he said to her. "Nice to meet you as well." he said trying to contain himself, he had encountered the headmaster's daughter. Joy. "And before it comes up I know I look young, but I am Sixteen." he said in anticipation of the question that almost everyone asked him. he looked to be fourteen years old and he hated it. it wasn't his fault that he was aging slower than everyone else.

"But..." Evie had started before he explained. "Ok." She sat quietly for a few moments. "So do you like it here at Hogwarts? Everyone I've spoken to so far sas it's great. my parents and their friends say it was the best time they had. I really want to do well here..." Evangeline knew she had a lot to live up to with her father and mother and then her brother.

Rydell looked at her, "I have enjoyed the majority of the time I have spent here but I prefer to be anywhere else but here usually." he said to her. "To much of a temptation to do the wrong things here at the school." he said to her, "And I don't like being around to much temptation." he said to her.

Evangeline smiled. "Mum sas it's a males thing...a temptaion to do things wrong. But I think I know what you mean." Evangeline took her slippes off and dipped her feet into the lake. She looked up at the sky to see a half moon.

"It is not a male thing with me." he said as he watched her, he hadn't moved since he had started talking to her, only to turn to face her, "I don't like the temptation that is given to me by almost everyone who is here." he said to her, I don't want another incident like the one that happened to me over the summer he thought to himself remembering the muggle kid that had pushed him over the edge.

"What are do you mean?" Evie asked him. "What temptaion does everyone pose on you?" She was a naturally curious child and this boy intrigued her. She looked down from the sky her dark eyes set on him.

"If you truly want to know, Ask other students, they can tell you any number of rumors, some of which are true." he said to her, "Of course you could ask your father, but then he would warn you to stay away from me." he said aloud.

"I don't listen to rumours. Rumours and gossip are just hurtful and spred by imbecilic students with nothing better to do." Evie perked up at the mention of her father. "He wouldn't do that. Well, he'd have to have a very good reason for it."

"He has a good reason" he said to her, as he crossed his arms, "I am a vampire." he said to her, he would get one of three response's either she would laugh, be afraid, or be very intrigued. "That is a good reason." he said to her as he looked away, towards the school.
